Thomas Beijer - Schubert, Debussy, Skrjabin, Sibelius - World pianists

"The piano is an illusionary instrument, which can sound like a singer, a bassoon or a whole orchestra... You can suggest so much with a piano," says pianist Thomas Beijer. At the Bösendorfer Imperial he brings together all those sounds and colors in a program as poetic as it is compelling. From Schubert's intimate Six moments musicaux, Thomas Beijer takes you to Sibelius' Piano Sonata, "an orchestral piece", according to fellow composer Ilmari Hannikainen. In the second part Thomas Beijer combines Debussy's atmospheric Images with Skrjabin's overwhelming Third Piano Sonata
