Trio voor klarinet, cello en piano
Lauma Skride (piano) Anastasia Kobekina (cello) David Orlovski (klarinet)
Seters Trio for clarinet, cello and piano from 1973 is one of his most intriguing chamber music pieces. Mysterious and poignant are just words that come up when you hear this piece.
Trio voor klarinet, cello en piano in Bes, op. 11, 'Gassenhauer'
Lauma Skride (piano) Anastasia Kobekina (cello) David Orlovski (klarinet)
  • I. Allegro con brio
  • II. Adagio
  • III. Tema con variazioni
Beethoven's "Gassenhauer Trio" owes its popularity to its heady final movement. In it, Beethoven treats his audience to a series of imaginative variations on an aria from the opera L'amor marinaro by Joseph Weigl. This aria was an outright top hit and was whistled by almost everyone in the streets (the gases) of Vienna. This is also where this piano trio got its nickname.
