Old psalms in a new look - New Dutch psalm compositions

Old Psalms in a new lookThe

Psalms are thousands of years old, but still alive and kicking. Over the centuries they have inspired hundreds of composers to create the most beautiful music. What's the secret? Maybe because the psalms contain all human emotions. They're as rich as life itself. At the request of harmonium player Dirk Luijmes, a number of Dutch composers have revamped several psalms.

The psalms are thousands of years old, but still inspire. At the request of harmonium player Dirk Luijmes, several Dutch composers composed a number of new psalm arrangements. Together with soprano Francine van der Heijden he presents a sweltering programme around centuries-old psalms.
