Passion concert - Bach

Passion concert - Bach
The rarely performed passion "Jesu deine Passion" by Bach's contemporary Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel is a true discovery. With this piece, the Apollo Ensemble dishes out six profound cantatas, each meditating on the suffering and death of Jesus in a unique way, ranging from dramatic to hushed. After the successful Brockes-Passionen series, the Apollo Ensemble continues its exploration of the passion tradition of the German Baroque with this emotionally charged passion oratorio. The ensemble enriches Stölzel's passion with matching instrumental sinfonias by Bach. Be prepared for an impressive musical experience in the Passion period.
