Take a unique time travel to the Vienna of 1813 with master guitarist Izhar Elias, proud winner of the Dutch Music Prize, and the PuraCorda String Quartet. In that year, Beethoven's compelling Seventh Symphony - yes, the one with that legendary Allegretto - sounded for the first time. None other than Italian guitar virtuoso Mauro Giuliani was a cellist in Beethoven's orchestra that night. Giuliani was celebrating great success at the time with his Second Guitar Concerto. Izhar Elias and the PuraCorda String Quartet bring both masterpieces to life on period instruments, including a famous 1812 Guadagnini guitar. For an evening, imagine yourself in the Vienna of Beethoven and Giuliani!
